7th Convocation of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University
Gandhinagar, Thursday: Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah along with Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani and PDPU President Mr. Mukesh Ambani today addressed the 7th Convocation Ceremony of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU). They awarded 1042 graduating students including 31 of doctorate degree with degree certificate.

Union Home Minister Mr. Shah urged the students to vow for the development and further added that such small steps will take forward on the path of development. If we won’t think about climate change and global warming at present than it would become difficult for us to keep the world clean in the coming future.
Mr. Shah also suggested PDPU to start research and development courses in the fields of plastic recycling and eco-friendly plastic. He also announced for assistance of Rs. 275 crore to PDPU to start various education courses.
As the nation is celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we all need to step ahead with new energy and new resolve. The central government is launch campaign to control single use of plastic. I have a hope that people of the state would join hands with me to control the single use of plastic.
Praising the Prime Minister Mr. Vision, Mr. Shah said that, Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi doesn’t take the decision to please the people but has won the trust of the citizens of the state.
Chief Minister Mr. Rupani said that, in these era of competition students should focus on cooperation to build New India. Convocation is not the conclusion of education but a ceremonial beginning of its application. I am confident that students awarded degree today at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University convocation will work with utmost social responsiveness & national consciousness.
Addressing the youth seeking for professional career Mr. Rupani said that, our Prime Minister had dream to make India a 5 trillion-dollar economy. He briefed about PDPU started by Mr. Modi to provide better opportunities of knowledge and science to youth. The youth should now apply the knowledge received from this university for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
PDPU Chairperson and chairman of Reliance Industries Dr. Mukesh Ambani welcomed all for the 7th Convocation ceremony of PDPU and said that, whenever I visit the land of Gujarat my feeling of pride gets doubled. He termed Amit Shah as a true karmayogi and the Iron Man of their age. The university started with just 113 students today in a short span of 12 years has reached till 1042 students. He expressed his hope to include PDPU in the lsit of top 100 universities.
Dr. Ambani said that the way the youth are stepping ahead on the path of development in near future the dream of New India will come true. Globally, we are on the third position in the technology-drive “startups”. He emphasized on giving priority to the Institutional and Departmental Initiatives in and outside the country.
PDPU Director General Prof. C. Gopalkrishnan delivered his occasional speech.
On the occasion Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Mr. Saurabhbhai Patel, Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, MoS for Education Smt. Vibhavriben Dave, MP, Chief Secretary, PDPU Standing Committee Chairman, Industrialists, Chief Officers, Member of PDPU Governing Council, PDPU Registrar, PDPU Faculties, awardee Students and their family members remained present.
