CM inaugurates developmental projects worth Rs.1082 crores in Surat
Saturday, Gandhinagar: Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs.1008 crores , which included works worth Rs.971 crores under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, in Surat today.
The CM allocated 3951 houses belonging to the EWS-2 category. The houses were built at a cost of Rs.282.22 crores. The allocation was based on computerised draw system. In addition to that, he also dedicated newly built homes worth Rs.175.51 crores and performed ground breaking ceremony for homes to be built at a cost of Rs.513.61 crores and inaugurated various other projects worth Rs.110 crores.
The CM affirmed that the state government will ensure necessary provision to make arrangements for the re-use of waste water in municipalities by the end of this year. Mr. Rupani congratulated the people of Surat for consistently securing a place in the cleanest cities of India. The number of slums in the city have decreased after the implementation of the Smart City Project.
The CM urged the people to resort to sustainable sources of energy. He said, “Gujarat is on a mission towards installing solar roof tops in 2 lakh houses by 2022. This will generate 30 thousand MegaWatts of green energy.” Minister of State for Health Mr. Kishore Kanani said that the state government under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Rupani has taken more than 600 people friendly decisions. A number of MLAs, District Collector Dr. Dhaval Raval, and a number of senior officials were present during the event.
