CM interacts with divyangs in Mukhya Mantri sathe “Mokla Mane”
Divyang Sadhan Sahay to be doubled from Rs. 10 Thousand to Rs. 20 Thousand after Diwali- Vijay Rupani
Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today has interaction with divyangs from various institutes of the state in the third edition of Mukhyamantri sathe “Mokla Mane” organized at Chief Ministers Residency herein Gandhinagar.
Interacting with the divyangs Mr. Rupani made an important decision to double the Divyang sathan sahay as Diwali gift for divyangs from Rs. 10 Thousand to Rs. 20 Thousand per person after Diwali. For smooth implementation as well as presentations of welfare schemes of people with disabilities in the state, State Government is planning to operate separate Divyang Nana ane Vikas Nigam (Divyang financial and Development board).
In accordance with the Divyang Act passed in the Parliament of the country, the Commissioner of Divyang Welfare will be appointed in Gujarat. He will look after solution to the problems of divyangs and will take care of their empowerment with regarding the administrative and financial matters of organizations working for the disabled.
Making one more announcement for divyang people Mr. Rupani said that the Divyang Certificate issued to persons with disabilities, which can be obtained only at the district headquarters or Ahmedabad Civil Hospital currently, can also be obtained from 22 medical colleges of the state government of the districts.
Expressing his sensitive approach, Mr. Rupani also announced to increase the grant of Rs.1500 per month to Rs. 2160 per month given to disabled children and child care homes as well as for other children. Approximately 10,000 children will receive this additional benefit. He aslo expressed commitment of the State Government to take proactive and welfare decision for the divyangs of the state.
Mr. Rupani said the taking care of divyang is not only our duty but our moral responsibility. He expressed the commitment of the Union Government of the state government to equip such persons with the help of resources and make them self-reliant. He described the festival of Navratri as a celebration of nine powers, social harmony and equality for such devout persons.
