CM inaugurates School Health Program
Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani inaugurated the National School Health Program from Gandhinagar. During his address, he made it clear that the state government in on a mission to ensure that children in Gujarat are in a state of sound health as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
The School Health Program is a step towards increasing Happiness Index in the state. Children between 0 to 18 years will undergo health check up and be provided with necessary treatment. As many as 4 lakh health volunteers are operational for this.
The first 1000 days of a newly born child are crucial for his/her health and development. The state government provides free of cost super specialty treatment to infants in case they are diagnosed with serious illness.
The CM added, “Various illnesses such as cancer, heart diseases, kidney ailments, cochlear implants, bone marrow implants etc are taken care of by the state government.
Apart from that, the government takes care of various dental issues and eye related problems. 98 thousand spectacles have been distributed to the needy children under the program.
Mayor of Gandhinagar Mrs. Ritaben Patel, Health Commissioner Mr. Jayprakash Shivhare, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Ratan Charan Gadhvi in addition to a number of officials, dignitaries and children were present during the event.
