Enabling Excellence, Supporting Champions

Korea Championship Presented by Genesis has a field of 156 players representing the DP World Tour and the KPGA, with players competing to win the total prize purse of 2 million USD (approximately 25 billion KRW).

The lineup features talented players like Denmark’s Rasmus Højgaard and Scotland’s top-ranked golfer Robert MacIntyre. They are joined by Korean players such as Yeongsu Kim, who won last year’s Genesis Championship and Genesis Points Awards, Min-kyu Kim, who won his first Korean Tour event at the Kolon Korea Open in 2022 and Jeunghun Wang, a three-time DP World Tour winner.

Genesis’ Signature Standards in Golf

As Presenting Sponsor, Genesis will provide the hole-in-one prizes and an operational fleet to transport players and tournament stakeholders in and around the course.

In addition, the first player to ace the 17th hole will receive an Electrified GV70, and his caddie will be gifted with a GV60. By generously rewarding both player and caddie, Genesis demonstrates that excellence in golf and luxury vehicles go hand in hand.

Genesis’ Expands Global Golf Platform

Genesis has long supported the globalization of Korean men’s golf by sponsoring major golf tournaments such as the KPGA’s Genesis Championship, the Genesis Invitational on the PGA TOUR, the Genesis Scottish Open — the first event co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour — and the Presidents Cup.

Keith Pelley, Chief Executive of DP World Tour said, “The Korea Championship Presented by Genesis marks our return to Korea for the first time in ten years and the tournament is an important part of the DP World Tour’s partnership with the KPGA, providing a clear pathway for KPGA Tour players to compete at the highest levels of men’s professional golf.” He continued, “We are therefore delighted to have the support of Genesis, a luxury global brand which was established in Korea, as presenting sponsor for this inaugural event, further strengthening our relationship following their title sponsorship of the Genesis Scottish Open last July, our historic first co-sanctioned event with the PGA TOUR.”

Bringing the Global Stage to the Home of Genesis

The winner of the tournament will gain membership on the DP World Tour and a chance to compete in the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open. In addition, if players finish in the top 10 of the DP World Tour’s season-long Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex, they will also qualify for the PGA TOUR.

Ja-cheol Koo, Chairman of the KPGA said, “I am excited to co-host an event with the DP World Tour and I hope that the Korea Championship will provide an opportunity to strengthen the collaboration between KPGA and the DP World Tour. I would like to express my gratitude to Genesis who have decided to sponsor this tournament. As this is an event where the best players compete against each other, I anticipate the highest level of play. I hope that the Korean golf fans will show great interest in the tournament and attend the event.”

Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis said, “Genesis is sponsoring major golf tournaments alongside PGA TOUR, DP World Tour, and KPGA, allowing more people to become familiar with the brand. Through our audacious commitment to golf, we will continue to increase our brand value globally and serve as a reliable supporter of Korean men’s professional golf.”

The live broadcast of the event will be streamed globally in 180 countries from Thursday through Sunday via DP World Tour’s global media network.

General admission tickets for the tournament are available for purchase on the Interpark website starting at 50,000 won for weekdays. Weekend tickets cost 80,000 won each, and a full-day pass is 150,000 won.
