Simone Biles Rising, which was produced by Religion of Sports and is available globally on Netflix, offers a powerful and intimate look at the US gymnast’s career, from her record-breaking success on the world stage to her advocacy for athlete mental health and wellbeing after her withdrawal from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Simone Biles Rising is a powerful reminder that true strength lies not only in medals, but also in courage, honesty and the willingness to be vulnerable. This Emmy nomination is a great honour — and a testament to Simone’s impact and the values that lie at the heart of the Olympic Movement. We’re proud to have helped bring her story to the world.

Yiannis Exarchos, OCS Executive Director

Since its release in July 2024, the four-part series has received widespread acclaim, including winning the Producers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Sports Programme and the Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards for Best Sports Documentary and Best Limited Documentary Series.
