IOC documentary series starring Simone Biles nominated for Primetime Emmy Award

16 July 2025 – The acclaimed Netflix documentary series following seven-time Olympic champion Simone Biles on her remarkable journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, produced in association with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Channel Services (OCS), has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Documentary (Series) category at the 77th Emmy Awards.

Simone Biles Rising, which was produced by Religion of Sports and is available globally on Netflix, offers a powerful and intimate look at the US gymnast’s career, from her record-breaking success on the world stage to her advocacy for athlete mental health and wellbeing after her withdrawal from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Emmy Awards, presented annually by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) since 1949, are among the most prestigious honours in the television industry, celebrating outstanding achievement across a wide range of genres.

The winners of the 77th Emmy Awards will be announced on 14 September during a ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
