SEOUL, South Korea, October 13, 2025 – NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tire manufacturer, announced that it is supplying its premium SUV tire, the ROADIAN GTX, and its ultra-high performance summer tire, the N’FERA SPORT, as original equipment (OE) tires for KIA’s core family electric SUV, the Kia EV5.

The ROADIAN GTX is an all-season SUV tire fitted on vehicles in the North American and Korean markets. The N’FERA SPORT is a ultra high-performance summer tire tailored to the European market, emphasizing high-speed stability and braking performance. This supply strategy is tailored to the driving environments and tire consumption patterns of each country.

NEXEN TIRE has designed these products with electric vehicle-specific characteristics. They utilize a proprietary pattern design system (TSPD: torque steer pattern design) to reduce torque steer, a phenomenon where high motor output pulls the vehicle to one side in the case of sudden acceleration. These products also optimize the distribution of stiffness ratios within each pattern block to maximize the road contact area and prevent wheel slip by loss of traction. NEXEN TIRE has applied an in-out multi-sequence design, where the arrangement of the tire blocks is intricately engineered to disperse driving noise effectively. This design approach is especially important for electric vehicles, as it ensures high levels of noise reduction.

NEXEN TIRE’s supply of OE tires for KIA’s strategic EV model, the EV5, signifies renewed recognition of the company’s technology and quality competitiveness. The company now provides OE tires across KIA’s key EV lineup, from the EV3 to the EV9, and has consistently demonstrated top performance for both electric vehicles and internal combustion engine (ICE) models.

NEXEN TIRE offers the broadest range of OE tires for domestic electric vehicle models among Korean tire manufacturers. Moving forward, the company plans to strengthen its collaborations with global automakers on electric vehicles.

“Supplying OE tires for the KIA EV5 proves that our products deliver reliable performance for the era of electric vehicles,” said John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim, CEO of NEXEN TIRE. “We will strengthen our global market position through an integrated production strategy, and maintain our excellent performance without distinction between EVs and ICE vehicles.”
