Geraci-Knopp hold the advantage at the top of the Pro standings as series heads to Spain
Sant’Agata Bolognese, 8 October 2025 – The 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season enters its closing stages this weekend with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosting a pair of 50-minute races which could prove pivotal in determining the outcome of the four class title battles.
In the eight races held so far this year, a total of six different crews have stood on the top step of the Pro podium, in what is proving to be one of the most competitive seasons in recent editions. Just 20 points cover the top five in the driver standings with 64 points on offer across the final two weekends.
One title that could be decided this weekend is in Pro-Am, where CMR’s Stéphan Guerin and Georgi Dimitrov hold a 39-point advantage, while just two points split the title contenders in the Am class. In Lamborghini Cup, a strong weekend for Rexal Villorba Corse’s Karim Ojjeh may well see him put one hand on the title ahead of the final round at Misano in November.
Two debutants at Leipert Motorsport as title battle nears its conclusion
With a second and a fifth last time out at the Nürburgring, Oregon Team’s Enzo Geraci and Josef Knopp maintained their healthy lead at the top of the Pro standings heading into the final four races. The crew of the #36 Huracán have taken four victories in class (two overall) so far this season and hold a 14-point cushion over Target Racing’s Guido Luchetti, who claimed his maiden victory in Germany. Luchetti’s team-mates Patrik Fraboni and Giacomo Pedrini were also victorious at the Nürburgring and lie third in the standings, five points adrift and one point ahead of VSR’s Adam Putera. Having missed the last round at the Nürburgring, Frenchman Paul Levet is set to return to action alongside Putera in the #6 VSR Huracán. Uniq Racing’s Jerzy Spinkiewicz will be absent from the grid this weekend after suffering an injury in a testing crash. The Polish driver, who claimed his maiden win at Spa-Francorchamps, is set to be on the sidelines for up to four months and will miss the remainder of the season. Spinkiewicz currently sits fifth in the standings, four points behind Putera, while Leipert Motorsport’s Anthony Pretorius and Silas Lovén Rytter are sixth, a further seven in arrears.
Returning to the championship this weekend is 2024 Super Trofeo Europe champion Amaury Bonduel, in the #57 BDR Competition car. Bonduel previously made a one-off appearance on home soil at Spa-Francorchamps but was ruled out of the weekend after an incident at the start of race one. He will be joined by Sebastian Balthasar, who is set to make his first Super Trofeo start since last season’s World Finals at Jerez, where he raced for Leipert Motorsport.
Two Super Trofeo Junior Drivers will also be making their European debuts in Barcelona too. Super Trofeo Asia race winner Ethan Brown will be partnered by Super Trofeo North America title contender Elias de la Torre in Spain. Both became members of the young driver development programme organised by Lamborghini Squadra Corse earlier this year.
Dimitrov-Guerin within touching distance of Pro-Am crown
The Nürburgring weekend may have been the first time all season that CMR’s Stéphan Guerin and Georgi Dimitrov had failed to win a race, the pair can still wrap up the Pro-Am title this weekend. Arriving with a 39-point advantage over BDR Competition’s Anthony Nahra and Dimitri Enjalbert, the CMR crew need only to leave Spain with a lead of 32 points or more to be crowned champions. Despite doing everything in their powers to reduce the deficit to the top of the table, Nahra and Enjalbert will also be keen to prevail in what is turning out to be a superb scrap for second in the standings. The Boutsen VDS pairing of Renaud Kuppens and Hugo Bac is just a point behind in third, and in turn only a point ahead of Miloš Pavlović and Alessio Ruffini (ASR). Having made their entry into the class late, Art-Line’s Egor Orudzhev and Shota Abkhazava are out of contention for the title but, with the pressure off, should be in the hunt for race wins.
Two points in it as the Am battle heats up
A double victory at the previous round means that Oregon Team’s Pietro Perolini and Massimo Ciglia are now just two points adrift of VSR’s Piergiacomo Randazzo and Stéphane Tribaudini heading into the penultimate round. Randazzo and Tribaudini won four of the opening five races but have not had things their own way since the summer break. Perolini and Ciglia, on the other hand, have been building momentum and took a clean sweep of wins last time out, after finished second three times. In the battle for third, Paolo Biglieri (ASR) holds a three-point advantage over Rodrigue Gillion (CMR), while the returning Adrian Lewandowski (ASR) is a further 11 points adrift, and only two ahead of BDR Grupo Prom Racing’s Alfredo Hernandez Ortega.
Ojjeh with the advantage in Lamborghini Cup
Thanks to a near maximum score in Germany, Rexal Villorba Corse’s Karim Ojjeh has a handy, if not insurmountable, 16-point lead at the top of the LB Cup standings over team-mate Claude-Yves Gosselin. Ojjeh claimed both wins last time out, taking his 2025 tally to five. Although winless this season so far, Gosselin has finished on the podium five times and heads into the weekend with a four-point lead over GT3 Poland’s Holger Harmsen. The German in turn is only three points clear of Luciano and Donovan Privitelio, while Oregon Team’s Adalberto Baptista is fifth, a further four points back.
With Gerhard Watzinger expected to miss the penultimate round, Leipert Motorsport will field a pair of Super Trofeo Europe debutants in the #56 Huracán EVO2. Super Trofeo North America regulars Jeff Courtney (USA) and Fred Roberts (Canada) are set for their first taste of the European championship ahead of an expected second appearance at Misano next month.

About Lamborghini Super Trofeo
Since its inaugural season in 2009, Lamborghini’s one-make GT series has become one of the most popular and competitive training grounds for professional and amateur drivers alike. Reserved for the 5.2-litre V10 naturally aspirated Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 which produces an output of 620hp, the championship is disputed over six rounds, culminating in the traditional season-ending Lamborghini World Finals where it competes against the North American and Asian championships on the same weekend.
Each race weekend consists of two one-hour practices followed by a pair of 20-minute qualifying sessions. Two races of 50-minutes are held over the weekend, with each featuring a mandatory pit-stop, to be taken between the 20th and 30th minute. Solo driver entries have a minimum pit-stop time of 63-seconds, while two-driver cars must be stationary for 60-seconds. All four classes: Pro, Pro-Am, Am and Lamborghini Cup race alongside each other but fight for separate titles, ensuring competitive action right through the field.
