London, UK, Wednesday 18 June: Genesis Motor UK has revealed the extensive enhancements featured on the latest generation GV60, with bold design and technology updates to make the compact luxury SUV more impressive than ever.
Following the popular first-generation model – the brand’s first dedicated all-electric car, introduced in 2022 – the new GV60 has been upgraded with sophisticated design enhancements throughout.
Underpinned by Genesis’ dedicated Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), GV60 also brings a series of driver-focused updates for model year 2025 to create an even more engaging experience behind the wheel.
A bold, contemporary new appearance
Building on GV60’s bold, contemporary appearance that helped the first-generation model secure seven European award wins, GV60’s signature athletic look has been refined for MY25.
New bumpers at the front and rear combine form with function, creating an elegant new exterior design while achieving improved aerodynamics, contributing to a new drag co-efficient of 0.28Cd. The new look is enhanced further with the use of colour coding on the wheelarches, bumper inserts and rear diffuser, subtly defining the exterior for the new generation.
At the front, Genesis’ signature ‘Two-Line’ quad headlights now feature Micro-Lens Array (MLA) technology as standard, delivering superior lighting performance from slim, compact units.
Two new 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheel designs have been introduced, while a selection of exterior paint colours is offered in addition to the standard Alta White, with a total of 14 options across Matte, Metallic and Pearl finishes including new Tromso Green Metallic.
Inside, bold new interior colour palette options also offer customers a wider choice of personalisation, including Obsidian Black, Glacier White & Ash Grey, Aqua Green & Galaxy Black, or Sky Blue & Prussian Blue.
The redesigned, high-tech cockpit is defined by the new 27-inch connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC), which merges the infotainment and driver information systems across a large panoramic screen, creating a seamless, intuitive display centred around the driver. A new three-spoke heated steering wheel features across all specifications, now with Hands-On Detection for an additional level of safety while on the road.
The ccIC display is home to Genesis’ new suite of connected entertainment services, including Bloomberg Media, Bloomberg TV, Disney+ and Netflix, available for European customers via the GV60’s in-car entertainment system.
An exciting new character
All specifications are now underpinned by Genesis’ new 84kWh battery for optimum range and efficiency, with two-wheel drive GV60 models now capable of a WLTP range of 348 miles. Retaining the 400V/800V charging system, 10-80% charging is now possible in just 18 minutes using a 350kW fast charger.
Also available is the highly advanced Virtual Gearshift (VGS) system; configurable by the driver, VGS simulates the behaviour of a conventional gearbox and disables the regenerative braking system, allowing for a deeper level of control and engagement across different driving situations.
High performance, four-pot front brakes are included as standard, offering greater braking performance and efficient energy recovery with the upgraded Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0. GV60’s augmented brake regeneration technology utilises traffic flow and navigation information ahead to automatically adjust braking force, improving energy efficiency and offering a smoother, more refined driving experience.
Underlining Genesis’ focus on offering optimum driver engagement on all models, GV60 can be specified with a hidden Drift Mode feature – unlocking an exciting driving mode designed for use within closed course conditions. Holding the left and right paddle shift levers for more than three seconds initiates the technology, enabling a dynamic driving mode with enhanced oversteer characteristics.
GV60 can also be specified with an Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD) and 180kW electric motors at the front and rear, delivering up to 700Nm of torque via the all-wheel drive powertrain. Using Boost Mode, a feature which can be used to unlock maximum performance from the powertrain, GV60 is capable of 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds.
Defined by intelligent technologies
Optional Bang & Olufsen Premium Audio delivers a high-definition, premium sound experience through a 17-speaker system. Equipped with Dolby Atmos, the advanced audio upgrade provides a three-dimensional, rich and delicate sound field effect through a 10-step surround system and beosonic function.
Another new optional feature for MY25, Digital Centre Mirror (DCM) transmits live footage from the rear-facing camera, relaying a crystal-clear rear view during poor weather conditions or situations where the rear window is obscured by luggage.
At the front, GV60’s MLA headlights are augmented further by optional Intelligent Front Lighting System technology, which uses the front-facing camera to read oncoming traffic information and automatically adapt the headlights.
The new GV60 can also receive Over-the-Air (OTA) updates as part of Genesis’ 5-year Care Plan, with MY25 models featuring a significantly upgraded OTA controller, increasing the level of OTA-compatible features 18 to 45 items.
Orders for Genesis GV60 will open from 1 July 2025, with customers able to discuss and order the car at Genesis’ retail destinations across the UK.
