Milano Cortina 2026 Look of the Games and sports pictograms revealed, inspired by new Italian spirit

07 November 2024 – The official “Look of the Games”, including the sports pictograms, for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 has been revealed, showcasing a dynamic visual identity that embodies Italian culture and creativity.

Developed by the respective Organising Committees, the Look of the Games is an integral part of all Olympic and Paralympic Games. It provides a vibrant and eye-catching backdrop to the sports events, creating a unified appearance across all areas, from stadiums and uniforms to logos and mascots.

Milano Cortina 2026’s creative vision is inspired by the concept of the “human gesture”, a theme that captures Italian talent, movement and artistry. This vision stems from a creative process grounded in the new “Italian spirit”, reflecting the host region’s culture and history, and expressing the nation’s beauty, spirit and talent in a way that resonates throughout the Games.

At the centre of Milano Cortina 2026’s vibrant identity are the “Vibes”, a four-element design scheme that includes:

  • Signs that reproduce the human gesture,

  • Curved shapes that evoke movement,

  • Straight, intersecting lines that enhance dynamism, and

  • A white blur effect inspired by snow and winter.

These elements come together to create a cohesive visual identity that connects deeply with Italian aesthetics and the Olympic spirit.

The Look of the Games for Milano Cortina 2026 shows an extraordinary visual language that accentuates the appeal of our competition venues and cities, and expresses a new concept of Italian beauty.
Andrea Varnier – Milano Cortina 2026 CEO

He continued: “This dynamic visual identity is inspired by our energy, our enthusiasm, our inclusiveness and our talent. It will be instantly recognisable, and will be an invitation for visitors from all over the world to immerse themselves in the new Italian spirit. It will leave a lasting mark on the history of sport.”

Adding to Varnier’s words, Raffaella Paniè, Head of Brand Identity and Look of the Games at Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, said: “The Look of the Games is the result of a creative process that started from the Brand Personality, from the concept of a new Italian beauty that reflects the deepest, positive qualities of the essence of our country, including talent.”

Pictograms: A celebration of winter sports

These simple, stylised icons represent each sport and discipline on the Olympic and Paralympic programme and are an integral part of each Games. Designed to be instantly recognisable and visually clear, they help guide spectators, athletes and officials by appearing on signage, schedules and materials throughout the venues.

They include 16 Olympic and 6 Paralympic pictograms, each designed to capture the purest form of human gestures – symbols that are refined and artistic, yet vibrant and dynamic, reflecting the essence of each winter discipline.

The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will take place from 6 to 22 February 2026, and the Paralympic Winter Games from 6 to 15 March.
