The 73rd edition of the Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR) will be held from 31 March to 2 April 2025 at the Capital International Exhibition Center of China (CIECC) in Beijing. Spanning across 80,000 sqm of exhibition space, the fair will attract over 1,200 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies. Concurrently, a series of forums and other fringe events will revolve around technological innovations, talent development, international collaboration and emerging trends in the aftermarket. These activities will bring together experts from the government, associations, renowned brands and institutions, fostering communication and cooperation amongst various stakeholders.
The rise of new energy vehicles and smart technologies, as well as growing diversity in consumer requirements are reshaping the market landscape. In this regard, the seventh instalment of the Automotive Aftermarket Conference (30 March 2025) will gather global leaders and experts to discuss trends and the collaborative development of the automotive aftermarket. Senior experts will offer a forecast of the market and policies in 2025. Industry consultants will also share insights into the independent aftermarket for new energy vehicles. For example, the German firm, Wolk, will examine the current opportunities and challenges for expanding into the European market.
Additionally, the conference will address topics such as how intelligence integration can enhance OEM aftersales business, the application of AI technology in services, aftermarket demand, and consumer preferences.
Driving technological innovations in vehicle maintenance and repair
This year, AMR will host a series of high-level technical forums to explore the application of innovative technologies in vehicle maintenance and aftersales services. The Automotive Aftermarket Maintenance and Diagnostic Technology Forum 2025 and Transmission Repair Training (31 March 2025) will welcome experts from prestigious academic institutions and leading diagnostic equipment manufacturers to discuss core technologies in vehicle maintenance and repair. Topics will cover the troubleshooting of an Electronic Control Module (ECM) in new energy vehicles, Domain Control Unit (DCU) of autonomous vehicles, and transmissions and electrical systems in hybrid vehicles, to name a few.
The New Energy Vehicle Electronics Technology Forum 2025 (1 April 2025) is also set to delve into maintenance technologies specifically for new energy vehicles, featuring topics such as the integrated cabin and driving domain technology, case studies on maintenance techniques, and the up-keep of charging systems. Experts from academic institutions and representatives from leading companies will share insights on innovation, practical experiences and advanced solutions.
Talent management and compensation
During the show period, the China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Trade Association will release the Guidebook for Salaries of Automotive Maintenance Technicians during the Global Pathways for Automotive Service Talent: Training Models and Cooperation Forum (31 March 2025). This report will help to determine the appropriate payment for employees in China’s automotive industry, offering predictions on talent demand and strategies to help companies set salary structures. It aims to improve a competitive and transparent salary structure, and address challenges in talent management.
Upgrades in road transportation equipment
AMR 2025 will hold the Road Transportation Equipment Standards Upgrade and Innovation Development Forum (1 April 2025), focusing on the elevation of performance, quality and safety in road transportation equipment. Manufacturers, research institutions, testing agencies and leading brands will convene to review trends in intelligent, clean energy and standardised technology within the sector in response to the evolving market.
Opportunities in global market expansion
Elsewhere, the Belt and Road Aftermarket Cross-border Cooperation Seminar (31 March 2025) seeks to facilitate companies expanding their businesses along the Belt and Road. The event aims to showcase China’s advantages in new energy technologies, in addition to create a channel for international communication and collaboration with topics covering the market outlook, policies, cross-border e-commerce and more. In this regard, it will host representatives in the aftermarket from Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Africa, as well as executives from domestic industry associations and new energy vehicle companies.
